Barraco Collection by Fetiche Design

Low chairs are usually good chairs.
Be it, for example, the LCW by Charles and Ray Eames or Herbert Hirche's 1953 Lounge Chair - low chairs are good chairs.
And also the Barraco Collection by Brazilian design studio Fetiche Design is a low chair.
And a good chair.

Great balls of wire by Søren Refsgaard for Bald & Bang

I love a nice pun... and when a nice product is nestling behind it - so much the better.
Great balls of wire by Soren Refsgaard for Bald and Bang is just such a thing.
The size of a tennis ball "Great balls of wire" will swallow up to 1,5 metres of cable.
Available in 9 colours, it is guaranteed to bring both order and colour to your office.
I'd just like to know "how" it stores the wire.....

Heels Chair by Steuart Padwick

Heels Chair by Steuart Padwick is one of those products that I don't really understand why I like it.
I just know I do.
A lot

It may be the fact that in the hands of another designer it would have come out as a troubling, ugly lump ... Steuart however has created a truly wonderfully balanced piece, where each element of the chair is present, but none dominates.
Nor fits in with its neighbouring piece.

I've seen more dignified furniture.
I've seen more subtle furniture.

I've rarely seen a chair I so automatically wanted.

LED1 from Tunto

Winner of a 2009 Red Dot Award the wonderful LED1 from Tunto is a wonderful combination of technological finesse and good old bent plywood.

Easiest is probably just to watch the video.

Collecteur by Christian Lessing

Imagine a stool the grows along with your magazine collection.
Christian Lessing did and the result is fantastic.
And very very simple; being as it is nothing more than two pieces of metal which slide.

What I particularly like is the fact that you can create one stool for a different magazine collection and so in one stroke solve both seating and storage problems.

Helena Lebá - softes

I would love to be able to tell you a little more about this product; sadly the designers website is so user unfriendly I can't...

But fortunately that doesn't distract from the quality of the idea, and I am convinced that the execution is as good as it appears
Check it out yourself at http://www.le-ba.de/

And an appeal to Helena - drop the flash and reconsider the navigation :)

All I have to do is order one.

Kitchen Pencil by Sebastian Bergne for ENO

Just to late for the 2009 Christmas stockings; but already looking good for 2010 - The Kitchen Pencil by Sebastian Bergne for ENO

Its a wooden spoon with a pencil at the end of the handle.
No one needs it, everyone would use it.

cubit

Next week I'm of to IMM in Cologne, and so am busy planning my trip - just to make sure I make the best possible use of my limited time.
And so it came to pass that I inadvertently stumbled across cubit - a wonderful modular storage system.
Not least because some of the elements are intended to be wall mounted thus meaning that you can plan space into your constructions.
Nice
